Drunk driver ploughs into tree than makes off

A suspected drink driver has ploughed his vehicle into a tree than made off from the scene abandoning his vehicle. Residents on Derby Road in Eastleigh heard the crash just after 1am on Saturday morning. They contact Hampshire Constabulary but no officers turned up to the single vehicle collision. The vehicle is suspected to have been stolen hasn’t been totally written off. The resident who asked not to be named said the air bags deployed on the vehicle and the driver made off he wasn’t about to hang about. He looked very much like he’d had too much to drink. A section of Derby Road remains blocked awaiting for the arrival of recovery of the high powered motor. More to follow
