Emergency Services Respond to Report of Person Over Cliff at Capel-le-Ferne

Emergency services have been deployed to Capel-le-Ferne, situated between Folkestone and Dover, following reports of a person having gone over the cliff on Monday afternoon.

Emergency Response

A significant rescue operation was launched, involving the Coastguard helicopter, Coastguard personnel, and an air ambulance. The dramatic cliffs in the area, part of the famous White Cliffs of Dover, are known for their stunning views but also pose significant risks.

Rescue Efforts

The Coastguard coordinated the response, with teams working alongside paramedics to search the area and provide assistance. It remains unclear if the individual has been located or their condition.

Witnesses reported seeing the helicopter hovering near the cliffs as emergency responders worked on the scene.

Awaiting Police Statement

Kent Police has been contacted for a statement regarding the incident, and further details are expected to be released once the situation has been assessed.

 

Update from Kent Fire and Rescue: Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called at 12.14pm to Old Dover Road, Capel Le Ferne in Folkestone. Three fire engines attended, and crews assisted the Coastguard and SECAMb.

A Spokesman for Kent Police said: Kent Police officers assisted partner agencies following a report of a medical incident near The Warren, Folkestone shortly before midday on Monday 23 December 2024.
