Emergency Services Search River Medway Amid Concerns for Man’s Welfare

Emergency services launched a coordinated search operation along the River Medway near Common Creek Wharf in Rochester last night following concerns for a man’s welfare. The search began shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Kent Police, HM Coastguard, and Kent Fire and Rescue Service worked together to comb the area. A UK Coastguard helicopter was also deployed to assist in the search, flying over the River Medway to look for any signs of the individual.

Despite their combined efforts, no one was located during the search. A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed: “Officers attended the scene and completed a search along with HM Coastguard and Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Nobody was located, and enquiries are continuing into the report.”

Authorities are still investigating the incident and have yet to provide further details on the identity of the man or the nature of the concern.

Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to contact local authorities.
