Bedroom Fire in Ashford Extinguished by Fire Crews

A significant fire involving felled trees and undergrowth broke out in Wissenden Lane, Bethersden, near Ashford on Monday, July 1, prompting a major response from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS).

The fire, which spanned approximately 200 square meters, was first reported at 1:21 PM. At the height of the blaze, KFRS deployed six fire engines, along with a bulk water carrier, an all-terrain vehicle, and a technical rescue team equipped with a drone to the scene. The KFRS volunteer response team also provided vital support during the operation.

Firefighters battled the flames for several hours, utilizing high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets to bring the fire under control. Their efforts were successful, and the fire was extinguished without any reported injuries.

A spokesperson for KFRS commented on the incident: “Our crews worked tirelessly to control and extinguish the fire involving felled trees and undergrowth. The swift and coordinated response from our team ensured that the fire was contained and extinguished without any injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and remains under investigation. Residents in the area are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or additional fires.
