Firefighters Tame Large Gorse Fire Near Yateley Common

A significant gorse fire that ignited this afternoon near Heathlands Cemetery in Yateley was swiftly contained thanks to the efforts of local fire crews and specialist units. Firefighters from Yateley, Rushmoor, and Surrey Fire and Rescue Services (FRS), along with specialist vehicles from Hartley Wintney and Fleet, responded to the blaze around 1 PM.

The rapid response of the first responders played a crucial role in preventing the fire from spreading out of control. Their quick work allowed additional crews to surround the blaze effectively and begin the process of dampening down to extinguish the fire completely.
