Five Arrested After Multiple Stabbings at Music Event in Thamesmead

 

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder after a serious incident at a music event in Thamesmead left five people in hospital with stab wounds.

The Metropolitan Police were called to Nathan Way, SE28 at 04:19am on Saturday, 17 May, following reports of a large-scale fight and multiple injuries.

Stabbings at Music Event

When officers arrived, they discovered five injured men, aged 22, 24, 24, 31, and 32. All were transported to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

  • Three of the victims are confirmed to have non-life-threatening and non-life-changing injuries.
  • Two others are still being medically assessed.

All five have since been arrested for violent disorder.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Detective Inspector Steven Andrews, leading the investigation, said:

“Officers responded quickly to provide medical assistance to the five injured people alongside the London Ambulance Service and ensure the safety of around 300 people who were at this music event.

The five men who have been injured have been arrested for violent disorder and we continue to work to establish any wider involvement.”

A police cordon remains in place on Nathan Way, and there will be an increased police presence throughout the day.

Appeal for Information

The Metropolitan Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage to come forward.

The violent disorder erupted during a late-night music event, reportedly attended by around 300 people. The motive and sequence of events remain under investigation.
