Hot tub cover sparks lifeboat launch in Ryde

Solent coastguard ordered the launch of the Ryde inshore lifeboat after their operations centre received a call at 12.35 to reports of an upturned dingy west of Ryde Pier with possible persons in the water. RYde Rescue Two was launched and on scene shortly after 12.50am. After a short search an item was found that turned out to be a 2m round hot tub cover. The crew recovered the item and brought it back to shore.
