Joyriders make off after crashing Car in Newport
Police have closed St George’s way in Newport on the Isle of Wight after a silver Mitsubishi Colt car has ploughed into a lamp stand by Newport football club. The road remains closed towards Newport whilst police carry out an area search for the outstanding driver. The closure is likely to remain closed whilst the vehicle is recovered and the Lamp stand is made safe. Despite effort of the Island dog handler searching between Newport football club and Matland car park the suspect escaped capture by Police. More to follow
