A man has been left with life-threatening injuries following a serious collision involving a motorbike and a car in East London early this morning.

Emergency services were called at 6.29am on Thursday, 10 April, to reports of a crash at the junction of Deancross Street and Commercial Road, E1.

Police officers, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, and crews from the London Fire Brigade all attended the scene.

The rider of the motorbike, a 47-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with critical injuries. A passenger in the car involved was also taken to hospital, though their injuries are said to be minor.


Commercial Road has been closed to traffic in both directions while officers carry out investigations, with vehicles currently being diverted via Jubilee Street. The closure has caused significant disruption to morning commuters in the area.

At this stage, no arrests have been made. Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
