Multiple Police Teams Worked Together To Carry Out A Drugs Raid After Receiving Vital Information From Members Of The Public

Officers from the City North neighbourhood policing team, City North Operation Reacher team, dog section, drone team and response executed the warrant at a home in Rosecroft Drive, Sherwood, on Wednesday (3 May) at around 1.35pm.

They discovered Class A drugs, an extendable baton weapon, bundles of cash and cannabis inside the property.

Five people – a woman aged 35, two men aged 33 and 38 and two 17-year-old boys – were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of cocaine, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.

Inspector Paul Ferguson, district commander for Nottingham north, said: “This was a great bit of joined up police work involving multiple teams working together to achieve a great result.

“It is always good news when we can seize and destroy drugs and interrupt their supply.

“The warrant was intelligence-led and would not have been possible without information received from members of the community. We hope it sends out a very clear message.

“The supply of drugs can have a devastating impact on our neighbourhoods and brings with it violence, antisocial behaviour and exploitation. It also funds other crimes, including shop theft, which in turn has a negative impact on local businesses.

“I want to encourage anyone who believes criminal activity is taking place in their area or ever notices anything suspicious to please get in touch with us and report it – your information can sometimes be the final piece of evidence we need in an investigation.

“This remains an ongoing investigation but I am pleased we have been able to take drugs off the streets, recover suspected stolen goods and arrested these suspects.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 377 of 3 May 2023, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
