Plain Clothes Officers Detain Couple Inhaling Nitrous Oxide in E14, Seize Bottles and Seek License Suspension

In an ongoing effort to curb nitrous oxide misuse, Tower Hamlets Task Force (THTF) plainclothes officers detained a man and woman found inhaling the substance from balloons in a parked car in E14. Officers discovered the pair had consumed a staggering 16 bottles of nitrous oxide over a three-hour period, with additional full bottles still in the vehicle.

The duo had previously been caught for the same offence just six weeks prior. Both have now been summonsed to court for possession of a Class C drug, with the remaining nitrous oxide bottles confiscated by officers.

In addition, officers submitted an Operation Revoke request to the DVLA, recommending that the female driver’s license be suspended due to the misuse. Tower Hamlets Task Force confirmed that the operation is part of their ongoing initiative to address substance abuse and promote community safety.
