Last Friday (03/06), around 10.30 a.m., the victim, who is in his 70s, was walking with a friend in Mile Elm.
He had a verbal argument with a male driver of a vehicle, who is then thought to have purposefully driven at the man, causing him to go up onto the car’s bonnet before falling to the ground.
The victim was taken to the hospital with numerous cuts and bruises but was fortunately not seriously injured.
The motorist, who was driving in the direction of Bromham at the time of the incident, fled the scene in the direction of Calne.
“Since the incident occurred, we have been working hard to try to identify the vehicle involved and the driver responsible,” said PC Storm Brand of the local policing team.
“However, we now need the public’s assistance and are urging anyone with information to come forward.”
“This was a terrifying incident for the victim involved, and it goes without saying that he could have easily sustained serious injuries.”
“Please come forward and speak with us if you have any information.”
The driver is described as white, with brown or dark hair, and is in his 30s. He is thought to have been the car’s sole occupant.
We believe the car was a Lexus because witnesses saw the logo on it, and we believe it was silver in colour, possibly with an index beginning with MK71 or MK17.
If you were in the area at the time and have a dash cam, we urge members of the public to review it to see if any useful footage was captured that could assist us in identifying the offender.
Likewise, if you witnessed this incident or have any information, please call 101 and quote the reference number 54220057090. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555111.
