Police Close Itchen Bridge following Serious Incident
Itchen bridge has been closed this morning as a person is threatening to jump off. Police have sealed off the bridge in both directions after they were called to reports of a person threatened to leap from the structure this morning. The man can be seen over the para pit has been described by Police as high risk. A number of officers are talking to the man. The bridge was closed at just after 12:40pm Two lifeboat and a coastguard rescue team have also been called to the scene. A helicopter has also flown over the area. A police spokeswoman said: “Someone threatened to jump from the bridge and is being described as a high risk we have sent a number of specialist officers to the scene.”
