Police Investigate Suspected Break-In at Co-op Store in Upminster

A Co-op store in Upminster was the target of a suspected break-in during the early hours of Sunday, 4 May 2025.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the Upminster Bridge Co-op on Upminster Road just before 1am following reports of a break-in. Upon arrival, officers found the front entrance damaged, with police tape across it and shutters left with a large hole.

A spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed that no arrests have been made at this stage, but enquiries are ongoing.

Co-op Statement

A Co-op spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying:

We can confirm that a robbery took place at our Upminster Road store in the early hours of Sunday morning (4th May).

We urge anyone who may have any information to come forward to Police, who are investigating. The store is now open to serve the community.”

The store has since reopened and resumed trading.
