In a dramatic turn of events, a protester stormed the stage moments before Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer was about to deliver a major speech at the party’s conference in Liverpool. Shouting slogans such as “true democracy is citizen-led” and “politics need an update,” the man managed to cover Sir Keir in glitter and briefly took control of the microphone.
Security guards swiftly intervened and removed the protester from the stage, escorting him backstage. Despite the disruption, Sir Keir remained composed and proceeded with his speech, undeterred by the incident.
