Small Fire in Gas Unit in Tunbridge Wells Extinguished Safely

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a small fire in a gas unit next to a commercial property on Silverdale Road, Tunbridge Wells, earlier this evening.

The incident was reported at 5:23 pm, and two fire engines were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters used high-pressure hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and quickly brought the situation under control.

Safety Measures

After the fire was put out, a cordon was established around the affected area to ensure public safety while waiting for a gas safety engineer from Southern Gas Network to arrive and inspect the unit.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the fire was contained to the gas unit without spreading to nearby properties.
