A child has been injured following a hit-and-run collision involving a quad bike in a residential street in Wickford, prompting an urgent police appeal for witnesses and information.

The incident occurred shortly after 3:00 PM on Saturday, when Essex Police were called to Aydon Close after reports of a collision between a red quad bike and a child riding a scooter on the pavement.

What Happened in Aydon Close?

According to police, the quad bike, which had a distinctive black cage on the front, is believed to have entered Aydon Close from a nearby field before striking the child. Witnesses said the vehicle briefly stopped at the scene before speeding away toward Wickford town centre.
