LBT Global, an international organisation dedicated to locating missing persons, has reported a significant cyber attack targeting their Self Referral Form submission system. The incident has caused widespread disruption to their services and raised concerns about data security.
According to a statement released by the organisation, malicious actors targeted the systems used for submitting Self Referral Forms (SR1 forms), a crucial tool in the process of reporting and tracking missing persons. The attack resulted in a flood of fake submissions and ultimately led to a complete failure of the service.
We have taken steps to provide extra resilience and hope the problem has been resolved,” said a spokesperson for LBT Global. However, the full extent of the damage and the identity of the attackers remain unknown at this time.
The organisation is urging individuals who have submitted self-referral forms but have not received a response to take action. They are advised to either email [email protected] or resubmit their form to ensure their case is properly registered and processed.
