Missing Cornwall Mum Found Safe After Urgent Police Appeal

A 49-year-old woman from Cornwall who was reported missing on Monday has been found safe, her family has confirmed.

Claire Bennett, from St Austell, was last seen at Truro railway station on the afternoon of 11 August, sparking an urgent high-risk missing persons appeal. Police released CCTV footage of her at the station, and her daughter Lauren publicly appealed for information, describing her mother’s disappearance as completely out of character.

Claire was last seen wearing a white vest top with red and burgundy stripes, blue cotton shorts, and blonde hair, standing around 5ft 8in tall. She was believed to have travelled from St Austell to Truro for unknown reasons.

This evening, Lauren confirmed in a Facebook post that her mum had been found safe.

“Mum has been found safe. Could I please ask as a family you respect our privacy at this time. Thank you all once again,” she wrote.

Devon and Cornwall Police have yet to confirm whether the missing persons appeal has been officially closed.
