Police Appeal After Phone Snatching Robbery on Perth Road, Wood Green

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was robbed in broad daylight on Perth Road in Wood Green, N22, earlier this week.

The incident took place at approximately 5:20pm on Wednesday, 19 March 2025, when the victim was walking along the road and was targeted by two men on bicycles.

According to reports, the suspects were waiting on bicycles when the victim walked past them. One of the men then followed him and snatched his phone before fleeing the scene.

Descriptions of the suspects have been circulated in the local community in an effort to assist police in identifying the individuals involved:

  • Suspect 1:

    • Hair: Light brown
    • Clothing: Black hoodie, black trousers, black trainers
    • Description: White male, approximately 5’9” tall
  • Suspect 2:

    • Hair: Black
    • Clothing: Dark grey jacket with white fur hood, grey trousers, white shoes
    • Description: Black male, approximately 5’5” tall

Both individuals fled the scene on black bicycles, with one described as an electric bicycle.

  • Suspect 1 was last seen heading towards White Hart Lane, while
  • Suspect 2 reportedly travelled in the direction of Lordship Lane.

Images Released

Images captured shortly after the robbery show one of the suspects riding a black electric bicycle on a residential street. The photos are believed to have been taken by a witness or from CCTV footage in the area.

Ongoing Investigation

Police have confirmed they are reviewing CCTV and making local enquiries. Residents in the area have been urged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

We take this type of street robbery very seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation. We ask anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, or who may recognise the individuals or bikes shown in the images, to come forward.”
