Kent Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman reported being bitten by a dog while waiting at traffic lights on East Street, Faversham, around 4:00 pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Incident Details
The victim was standing at the traffic lights when a stocky dark brown dog on a lead suddenly leapt up and bit her arm. Fortunately, the victim’s thick clothing prevented any injury.
The man holding the dog’s lead allegedly swore at the victim before walking away. He is described as:
- White male
- In his 20s
- Around 5ft 10ins tall
- Of slim build
- Missing several teeth
- Wearing dark blue jeans and a dark-coloured hooded top
The dog is described as being approximately 3ft tall, stocky, with a black collar featuring gold detailing.
Police Statement
PC Sophie Rumsey said:
“The dog involved in this incident was allegedly out of control, and while the victim was protected from injury by her clothing, we are concerned that another member of the public or a child could have come to harm. We are keen to trace the dog’s owner and are urging witnesses to call our appeal line.”
