Three Teenagers Arrested After Robbery at Barking Station

Three teenagers have been arrested by British Transport Police (BTP) on suspicion of robbery following an incident at Barking station. The arrests were made yesterday after officers were able to track a stolen phone that had gone missing the day before.

The successful arrests came after police traced the stolen device’s location, leading them directly to the suspects. During the operation, officers recovered two phones—one being the stolen item, and the other found wrapped in tin foil, a tactic sometimes used in attempts to block tracking signals.

BTP Chief Superintendent Chris Casey confirmed the arrests in a statement posted on social media, assuring the public that investigations are ongoing.

“We are committed to making the rail network a hostile environment for offenders,” said Chief Supt Casey. “Our officers acted swiftly, and thanks to great investigative work, we’ve recovered stolen property and taken suspects into custody.”

The trio remain under investigation, and further enquiries are being made to determine whether they are linked to additional offences.

British Transport Police are encouraging the public to stay vigilant while travelling. If you see something suspicious on the transport network, you can report it discreetly by texting 61016, or call 999 in an emergency.
