Two officers from police/">Avon and Somerset Police have been nominated for the prestigious National Police Bravery Awards 2024 for their heroic actions in rescuing a distressed man on a busy motorway.
On the evening of Sunday, May 28, 2023, Police Sergeant (PS) Nick Dalrymple and Police Constable (PC) Mitchell Raymond responded to a concern for welfare incident on the M5 southbound carriageway on the Avonmouth Bridge. PS Dalrymple, a dog handler based at the force’s Wilfred Fuller Operational Centre, was first on the scene.
