Sussex Police have charged two men following separate break-ins in Brighton and Felpham during the early hours of Tuesday, 24 February.
Felpham Burglar Caught Thanks to Heroic Police Dog Billy
Just after 2.30am, officers raided a home on Limmer Lane, Felpham, after a burglary alert. Police dog PD Billy tracked down 22-year-old Jacob Meigh, from Stoke-on-Trent, right at the scene.
Meigh now faces serious charges including burglary with intent to steal and going equipped for burglary. He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 27 February and was bailed until 7 April.
Brighton Burglar Tracked Down by Canine Cop PD Gibbs
Just over an hour later, cops rushed to Kensington Gardens, Brighton, after another burglary was reported. Police dog PD Gibbs helped officers locate 45-year-old David Mann, who has no fixed address.
Mann was slapped with two burglary charges plus three counts of shop theft. He was remanded in custody following his court appearance on 25 February, with a further hearing due on 4 March.
