Fatal Collision Closes M1 Southbound Between Junctions 22 and 21

  • From M1 Junction 22 Southbound:
    1. Exit the M1 southbound at Junction 22 and take the A50 eastbound.
    2. Continue on the A50 through Field Head, Bradgate Hill, and Lena Drive junctions to the A50/A46 interchange.
    3. Follow the A563 southbound through various junctions and roundabouts to rejoin the M1 at Junction 21.
  • From M1 Junction 21a and A46 Southbound:
    1. Exit the A46 at the B5380 Kirby Muxloe Interchange and rejoin the A46 northbound.
    2. Follow the A50 westbound and continue along the standard diversion route to rejoin the M1 at Junction 21.

Severe delays are expected in the area as the southbound closure remains in place for the foreseeable future. Motorists should allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes.
