A devastating crash rocked a Costa Coffee branch in Carterton, West Oxfordshire, earlier today (May 7), leaving three people injured after a car ploughed through the shopfront.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to the Burford Road site just before midday. Shocking scenes unfolded as police urged the public to avoid the area, confirming the road was immediately closed off.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said:

A vehicle has been driven into Costa Coffee in Burford Road, injuring three people.
We do not believe this was a deliberate act on behalf of the driver.”
Officers added that anyone with video footage should not share it online “out of respect for those injured” but instead contact police quoting INC-20250507-1109.
“Thinking of everyone affected by today’s incident at the coffee shop and deeply grateful to our emergency services for their swift response.”
