A man from Durham has been jailed for four years for robbery, aggravated vehicle taking and assault of an emergency worker

Gavin Aldworth, 38, of St Marks Court, Bishop Auckland has been sentenced at Preston Crown Court.

On Thursday 6 April this year, Aldworth approached the victim who was heading to his parked car on Rawlinson Street, Barrow. He asked the victim for directions to an address and pointed to his phone, whilst distracted Aldworth stuck the victim to the head and neck causing him to fall to the floor.
