Officers from the Thanet Multi-Agency Task Force patrolled #Broadstairs, #Ramsgate, and #Margate Train Station on the evening of Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Kent Police Dog (PD) Dougal, a drug-detecting dog, collaborated with officers from Kent Special Constabulary and British Transport Police at Margate Train Station, where several young people were reported for drug possession.
A 27-year-old Ashford man was arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to supply. He was granted bail until September 1st.
PD Dougal also assisted patrols in Pierremont Park and Memorial Park in Broadstairs with a stop and search for people carrying suspected drugs in the area. A dispersal order was issued in response to recent reports of anti-social behaviour, which resulted in officers removing groups of young people from parks. Officers will contact parents and guardians as part of their ongoing efforts to deal with those responsible for any problems.
Plain clothes officers were used to detect additional drug use in various areas of Broadstairs.
