A21 Closed in Both Directions Following Two-Car Collision in Kent

The A21 in Kent has been closed in both directions following a road traffic collision involving two cars.

The closure is in place between the B2079 (Flimwell) and the B2169 (Lamberhurst) as emergency services, including Kent Police, respond to the incident.

National Highways contractors are also on the scene to assist with traffic management and subsequent clear-up operations. A local diversion route has been implemented to help motorists navigate around the closure.

Travel Disruptions

The incident has caused significant delays, with congestion building on approach to the closure and along diversion routes. Motorists are advised to:

  • Allow extra journey time
  • Consider alternative routes
  • Delay travel where possible

National Highways Statement

A spokesperson for National Highways said:

“We urge drivers to plan ahead as delays are likely while emergency teams and contractors work to resolve the situation. Safety remains our top priority.”

The cause of the collision and the condition of those involved have not yet been confirmed. Further updates are expected as emergency services continue their operations.

Drivers are encouraged to monitor traffic updates and follow the diversion signage in place.
