Man Dies in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash on A38 in Cornwall

A man in his 40s has tragically died following a single-vehicle crash on the A38 at Glynn Valley near Doublebois, Cornwall.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 5:05am on Sunday, 22 June, after a silver Ford C-MAX Estate left the road. The driver, a man from Plymouth, was found with fatal injuries and pronounced dead at the scene.


Road Closed for 12 Hours

The A38 was closed for approximately 12 hours while police conducted a full forensic examination of the site and worked to understand the circumstances of the crash.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that specialist forensic collision investigators were deployed, and that no other vehicles were believed to be involved.


Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Officers are now appealing to the public for assistance.

We are investigating the cause of this collision and are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the vehicle before the crash, or who may have relevant dashcam footage from the area around the time,” the police statement said.
