Police are urgently appealing for witnesses following a tragic incident in Cowfold where a pedestrian was killed in a collision on the A272 Bolney Road. The incident occurred shortly after 1am on Saturday, 31 August.

Officers were called to the scene where a grey Mercedes had struck a 44-year-old man from West Chiltington. Despite the swift response of police, paramedics, and members of the public, who administered CPR, the victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident, particularly those who may have dash cam or CCTV footage, to come forward. Information can be provided by emailing [email protected], quoting Operation Cambrose.
