At around 10.15am on Monday 23 September 2024, a Kent Police motorcyclist requested the driver of a flat-bed truck carrying scaffolding to stop as it travelled from Brenley Corner onto the A2 London Road.

The vehicle, with a registration number starting GN19, did not stop and was pursued into Ospringe Street and then Faversham Road. It proceeded into Well Lane where it is alleged the vehicle reversed and was involved in a collision with the motorcycle. The officer was not harmed during the incident and the truck left the scene.
Investigators are now appealing for motorists with dashcam and residents with private CCTV to check for relevant footage which may show the flat-bed truck.
