Pedestrian Struck by HGV in Croydon – Major Road Closure Underway
Emergency crews have rushed to Lodge Road in Croydon this afternoon following a serious collision between a pedestrian and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). The busy road is currently closed both ways as rescue efforts unfold.
Massive Emergency Response on Scene
- Firefighters, Met Police officers, and London Ambulance paramedics were all dispatched to the crash spot shortly after 4.20pm on Tuesday, November 29.
- A large blue sheet has been erected at the scene, shielding the injured pedestrian during the rescue works.
- The London Air Ambulance was also scrambled to provide critical on-board medical support.
Met Police Launch Collision Investigation
Authorities confirmed an incident investigation into the collision is now underway. A witness at the scene reported that the pedestrian was hit by the HGV just after 4.20pm.
All emergency services including the London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, and Met Police have been approached for comment.
