It has emerged that an easyJet Airbus A320neo from London Gatwick got stuck on the grass in Keflavik Airport, Iceland after taxiing off the paved surface in icy conditions.

It is understood that the aircraft involved in the incident in Keflavik Airport was G-UJEB, an Airbus A320neo. G-UJEB was operating flight U28843, which departed from London Gatwick at 7.01am local time Sunday morning.

The aircraft landed in Keflavik at 10.18am local time and began to taxi to the gate when this incident happened.

Aviation Source said on Monday ” At the time of writing, G-UJEB remains on the ground at the Icelandic airport, with no indication into when it will return to commercial service, as checks for damage will need to be conducted before allowing this to happen.”

“It is understood passengers, who came from London Gatwick were transported by bus to the terminal building following the incident.”
