Eglinton Road Murder Trial: Three Teenagers Accused in Fatal Stabbing of Daejaun Campbell
Three teenagers are standing trial at the Old Bailey accused of the murder of 18-year-old Daejaun Campbell, who died in a targeted machete attack on Eglinton Road, south-east London, last September.
The defendants are Jacob Losiewicz, 18, Marko Balaz, 19 — both from Abbey Wood — and a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named due to legal restrictions. All three deny murder, though the younger defendant has admitted possessing a machete in public.

Drug Exploitation Possibly Linked
Although the motive remains unclear, prosecutors believe Daejaun may have been carrying drugs and cash, possibly linked to county lines exploitation. Chawla explained that Daejaun “may have been used as a carrier and supplier of drugs” because of his age and vulnerability.
During the attack, Daejaun reportedly threw a large knife in self-defence, which shattered on a metal railing. He later succumbed to his injuries.
