A serious crash on the A124 Barking Road in Plaistow has resulted in the road being closed in both directions. The incident, which has been ongoing since around 4:15 pm this afternoon, has prompted a large emergency response, with London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police, and London Ambulance Service at the scene.

 
 

A blue tent has been erected at the crash site, indicating the severity of the situation. Airbags were reportedly deployed in the vehicle involved, and a section of Greengate Street has also been cordoned off by police as investigators work on the scene.

 

 

Bus routes 5, 115, 330, and 147 have been diverted around the area, with passengers advised to check travel updates before heading out. TfL reports that buses are being redirected via Boundary Road, Boundary Lane, Glen Road, Prince Regent Lane, and Newham Way.

Emergency services have not yet provided an official comment, but photos from the scene show multiple police officers and firefighters attending the crash site. The crash investigation remains ongoing.
