A fire broke out at a takeaway restaurant on Sterling Way in Edmonton this morning, prompting a major emergency response and causing significant traffic disruption in the area.

The London Fire Brigade confirmed that six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to tackle the blaze, which affected a single-storey rear extension and ducting system at the property.

Road Closures and Travel Disruption

Sterling Way has been closed near the junction of Fore Street, and motorists have been advised to avoid the area while emergency services remain on scene.

Local traffic is being diverted, and delays are expected through parts of Enfield and Edmonton.

Cause Under Investigation

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigators remain at the scene. The London Fire Brigade said an update will be provided once enquiries are complete.
