Fire breaks out at chalet in Gurnard Pines

Two fire crews from Newport are currently dealing with a fire that has broken out at a chalet on the Gurnard Pines estate on the Isle of Wight. It is understood that owner had only just moved on Friday. Fire crews were called shortly after 7.30pm on Sunday evening. Fire fighters are tackling the blaze using two hose reels and a covering jet and a number of fire fighters have been committed into the property wearing breathing apparatus. An investigation into the cause of the blaze has been launched. The distressed owner a father of two attacked bystanders on the site and had to be held back by firefighters. Crews have managed to bring the blaze under control but are likely to remain at the incident for sometime.
