Fire Crews Mobilsed to Sparking cable in Wroxall

Isle of Wight Fire crews have been called to the High Street in Wroxall Two crews from Newport and Shanklin Fire stations were dispatched to the incident just after 7.30am on Monday morning. Crews are dealing with arcing underground electrical mains cable that has been struck by a spade whilst builders have been digging a trench at the side of a thatched property on the High Street. The tail into the property is arcing. Fire crews have called Scottish and Southern electric who are sending out an engineer to isolate the external supply.
