One of Hartlepool’s most historic buildings, the disused Odeon Cinema on Dent Street, has been devastated by a large fire that broke out overnight. Cleveland Fire Brigade responded to reports of the fire in the early hours of the morning and has been battling the flames since. The extent of the damage is not yet fully known, but eyewitnesses have described the fire as “massive” and “engulfing the entire structure.
Local authorities have implemented road closures on York Road, Hart Lane, and Raby Road to ensure public safety and allow emergency vehicles unimpeded access to the site. Residents and commuters are strongly advised to avoid the area.
