John Barrowman and Georgia Harrison Join Cast for New Series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins

Actor John Barrowman and former Love Island contestant Georgia Harrison have been confirmed as part of the star-studded cast for the upcoming series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The sixth series of the hit Channel 4 reality show will see celebrities take on gruelling SAS winter warfare training in the rugged landscapes of New Zealand’s South Islands.

The show’s format doesn’t involve typical eliminations; instead, contestants are “culled” by the show’s directing staff or can withdraw themselves if they find the challenges too demanding. The remaining recruits at the end are declared the winners.

Alongside Torchwood star John Barrowman, notable contestants include journalist Rachel Johnson, sister of former UK prime minister Boris Johnson, and reality star Pete Wicks, who is returning after competing in the 2022 edition. Wicks had to withdraw from the competition previously after breaking his ribs during the second episode, but he is determined to give it another shot.

Reflecting on his return, Wicks said: “After being medically withdrawn in Jordan, I felt like I hadn’t given it my best, and that bothered me. So when I got an opportunity to go back, I jumped in, and I would do it again.”

Rachel Johnson, who is also joining the show, shared her experience: “This experience was much more than I was expecting. I mean, given how ghastly reality television can be, this was top-notch. Really top-notch.”

Other celebrities set to endure the physically demanding challenges include reality TV star Bianca Gascoigne, former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw, TV presenter Cherry Healey, boxer Anthony Ogogo, comedian Shazia Mirza, TOWIE star Bobby Norris, and influencer Marnie Simpson.

The cast will also feature former Olympic gymnast Ellie Downie, comedian Tez Ilyas, professional basketball player Ovie Soko, and World Heavyweight Champion boxer Lani Daniels.

The series will once again be led by chief instructor Billy Billingham, alongside his team of directing staff, including Jason “Foxy” Fox, Rudy Reyes, Chris Oliver, and special guest Dr. Alia Bojilova, a former Special Forces psychologist.

When Does Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins 2024 Start?

The new series will air on Channel 4 every Sunday and Monday at 9 p.m., beginning on September 22.

The show promises to push contestants to their limits as they face brutal conditions, including constant cold and wet weather, as they tackle a range of physically and mentally taxing SAS training exercises. According to chief instructor Billy Billingham, the recruits will need to give their all from the moment they arrive: “As our course progresses, the standards expected will never falter. From the very first second, the recruits will be expected to give 100%. Anyone not doing so will be gone before they have time to make their excuses.”

With a mix of actors, athletes, and reality stars, this series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet.
