London’s transport unions have decided to call off their planned strikes on the Tube next week after last-minute negotiations resulted in what was termed a “major step forward.” The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union members were initially scheduled to walk out from 23rd to 28th July, while Unite and Aslef members were planning to strike on 26th and 28th July.

The dispute between the transport unions and Transport for London (TfL) has been ongoing, centering around issues such as job cuts, changes to pensions, and working conditions. The RMT released a statement, stating that “progress” had been achieved in the talks, and original plans for job cuts and pension changes by TfL would no longer be implemented.
