The M20 is currently blocked in both directions between Junction 11a (Channel Tunnel) and Junction 11 (Hythe) after a lorry burst into flames earlier this morning, causing huge disruption for drivers.
Emergency services rushed to the scene just before 9am after reports of a heavy goods vehicle catching fire on the London-bound carriageway. As a result, both the eastbound and westbound sides of the motorway have been completely closed.
Images shared by National Highways show thick plumes of smoke rising from the vehicle as fire crews work to extinguish the blaze. Police officers and Highways Traffic Officers remain on site managing traffic and assisting with recovery operations.
