The M25 motorway is currently closed with severe delays after a serious crash involving a car and a lorry near Junction 17 for Maple Cross. The incident, which occurred around 2:00 pm this afternoon, has led to significant disruptions and traffic congestion in the area.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, swiftly responded to the scene of the accident. As a result, the anticlockwise carriageway of the M25 has been closed, causing long queues of traffic to build up. The congestion stretches back to Junction 20, and motorists who were initially trapped between Junctions 17 and 20 are now being turned around as there is no way to proceed on the anticlockwise side.
