Rail services have been severely disrupted this morning following an incident where a person was hit by a train at Chilham.

The tragic event occurred at approximately 8:30am prompting Southeastern to report delays just 18 minutes later. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and the electricity supply to the railway was switched off to ensure safe access for responders.
Impact on Rail Services
As a result of the incident, trains between Ashford International and Canterbury West have been delayed or canceled. Southeastern has announced that services are being diverted to Dover Priory to maintain some level of connectivity for passengers.
