A man and woman found dead in a house in Thamesmead, South East London, have been identified as 51-year-old Michelle Mileham and 53-year-old Gordon Mileham.
Police were called just before 3 pm on Tuesday, March 11, after concerns were raised about the welfare of the occupants of a property on Holstein Way, Thamesmead. Upon arrival, emergency services forced entry into the home, where they discovered the bodies of the couple, both suffering from serious stab wounds.
Paramedics pronounced both Michelle and Gordon dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination later confirmed that the cause of death for both was stab injuries.
Police have confirmed that Michelle Mileham’s death is being treated as murder, while Gordon Mileham’s death is not considered suspicious. Authorities are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
The Metropolitan Police have notified the next of kin, and specially trained officers are providing support to the family during this difficult time.
An inquest into the deaths is scheduled to open on April 10 at Croydon Coroner’s Court.
A police spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Michelle and Gordon at this tragic time. We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Holstein Way remained cordoned off while forensic teams carried out their investigations.
