Man Arrested by Murder Squad following Death of Romford Pensioner Rosina Coleman

A 65-year-old man was arrested at an address in Romford on Friday, 18 May on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at an east London police station. A post-mortem examination carried out at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, on Thursday, 17 May gave the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head and neck. Although we await formal identification, we are confident that the deceased is Rosina Coleman, who was 85 and from Romford. Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 11:31hrs on Tuesday, 15 May to reports of a woman found deceased at an address on Ashmour Gardens in Romford. Officers attended and Rosina was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next-of-kin have been informed. Detective Inspector Paul Considine of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, is leading the investigation. He said: “Whilst we have made an arrest today, the investigation into Rosina’s murder remains ongoing and I continue to appeal for witnesses. “Were you in Ashmour Gardens on Tuesday 15 May?
