Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Incident at Garrowhill Station – UKNIP

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a tragic incident at a Glasgow station where he and a two-year-old boy were hit by a train. The incident occurred on Sunday at Garrowhill, prompting a response from emergency crews.

The 26-year-old man and the young child were swiftly taken to the hospital, with the boy sustaining minor injuries and being discharged earlier this week. The man, who was arrested on Monday night under suspicion of attempted murder, has now been discharged from the hospital and formally charged with the offence.

He is scheduled to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today to face the charges against him.

Detective Chief Inspector Marc Francey assured the public that this was an isolated incident and that no further suspects were being sought. He emphasized that specially trained officers are providing support to the family of the young boy and expressed gratitude that the child is expected to make a full recovery.

The investigation is ongoing, as authorities work diligently to determine the complete circumstances surrounding the incident. Detective Chief Inspector Francey urged any witnesses who have not yet come forward to provide information to the British Transport Police. Witnesses can reach out by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, referencing case number 564 from July 2.
