Man Dies Following Head-On Collision on The Avenue Near Wilton

 

A man has tragically died following a serious collision on The Avenue near Wilton this afternoon, Wiltshire Police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 3.20pm after reports of a head-on crash involving a red Vauxhall Astra and a white Mercedes Sprinter minivan traveling in opposite directions.

Despite efforts by paramedics, the driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his 50s, was declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, and police have extended their sympathies to the family during this difficult time.


Injuries and Road Closure

The driver of the Mercedes and two children who were passengers in the vehicle were transported to hospital. Their injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.

The Avenue remains closed as specialist officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) conduct a full examination of the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible.

Wiltshire Police are urgently appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.
