Man escapes Ilford blaze unharmed

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Windsor Road in Ilford. Part of the ground and first floors of a terraced house were damaged by the fire. One man left the property before the arrival of the Brigade. The Brigade was called at 7.20pm on Saturday evening and the fire was under control by just after 8pm. Fire crews from Ilford and Barking fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
